Our officer team consists of a President, Vice President, and Secretary. These ladies are our leaders and in charge of running our meetings. They are also looked to for providing a hand and direction at SHINE events. Description: The Spiritual Team organizes ladies’ Bible studies, the annual women’s retreat, the cradle roll for our youngest members, the library, the prayer chain and other things of a spiritual nature. Description: The SonShine Team radiates the Son’s love to our members. Description: The Outreach Team helps us reach out to our members through such things as the monthly Women Helping Women luncheon and the Mother/Daughter program. The Activities Team organizes church fellowship activities including potlucks, picnics, and the women’s Christmas party. Members do not formally join SHINE, rather every women is welcome to use her gifts to serve God in any way she can. WELS Women’s Ministry
The WELS Women’s Ministry Committee equips, nurtures and encourages women to use all of their God-given gifts to glorify God and build up his kingdom. This website contains many Bible studies, devotions, ideas for retreats, stories of faith and other material of interest to women as they service their Savior.
Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society
LWMS is an organization of women throughout the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) committed to increasing interest in and support of mission endeavors which are part of, or in the interest of, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
Central Africa Medical Mission
CAMM is a 45-year legacy of healthcare in Zambia and Malawi. The volunteers and national staff have seen many faces and have been a light of Jesus to many people. Their work is one of humility, patience, commitment, and sacrifice for people that they may never see again. Yet, it also brings the blessings of new friendships, lessons in perseverance and character, and a strengthened faith in the One who sustains, cares for, and loves each of us the same. CAMM is supported by the women of WELS.
New Beginnings, a home for mothers, is located in Aurora, CO. It provides a place for single mothers to start a new life. Whether the resident decides to become a responsible parent or place her baby in a loving adoptive home, she will be given the support and counseling she needs during that process.
Lutheran Girl Pioneers
As an organization founded to keep our girls “Loyal to Christ”, Lutheran Girl Pioneers (LGP) strives to develop in each member her potential for leadership through personal interaction skills with others and promote service to the Lord and to the world around her. Kroger Community Program
SHINE, the women’s ministry at Abiding Word, has enrolled in the Kroger Community Program. Kroger will contribute a percentage of your purchases from September through the end of August each year into a donation fund. SHINE will use their share of this fund to help buy gift cards for food for those who come by the church looking for assistance. In the past we have received $500-$700 a year from this program.
To participate, you must link your Kroger Plus card to the SHINE account. The process is a bit different this year and detailed instructions can be downloaded here.
Even if you participated in the Kroger program previously, you must re-link your card for this new program year which begins Sept. 1 each year.
SHINE very much appreciates your participation in this program. Please share it with family and friends also.
